Well, depopulated TO 2022 might be an option. We will see.
Sounds like the “sticky client” problem described in the 2.5 Admins podcast episode 61.
Looks fantastic! Would love to see a picture of the inside as well …
And where is wall mounting?
It’s an early prototype, but I still totally second your demand - seems like having a wall mount is not a must have for Turris Team (there is none available for MOX yet!) even though it totally is for users (me too).
Wall mounting is essential for me.
Cool - thanks!
Hahah, are you running castel wolfenstein on it?
I’m not telling, but…
Red is too distinctive otherwise I would be able to get used to the appereance. How about metallic silver or matt black?
The color might be a subject to change. We will see.
This is obvoously quite subjective, but I would totally go for a bold color, like in-your-face-pink or lime green, asuming I can afford a new omia at all (that is justify the purchase).
Will there be a NAS case option too? For me, the combined NAS+router Omnia with fast ethernet is the best solution for a compact home router/server. I currently use two, and I’d happily update one of these with a new version when it hits the market.
I believe that having the same case would be nice, so the NAT option stayed the same
What is the estimated height of the device?
Will there be a case option with a maximum height of 1U?
Currently I use this Turris Omnia rack mount | Discomp - networking solutions to have the Turris Omnia neatly integrated into my rack.
A rackmount option (with a maximum height of 1U) for the case would be wonderful!
We will do our best to figure out the right rack solution for Turris Omnia 2022. Right now it is just too early to say exactly which type it will be. Thanks for Your patience and support
Thank you very much - I appreciate your effort!
… and please (!) keep the LEDs. There’s no better indication to see what’s going on.
Did you have a close look onto the prototype? They replaced the LEDs (cool nerdy indicators) by a LCD-screen (well - there’s nothing comparable, right?)
I did see the prototype - however never say never
“+1” to your statement “cool nerdy indicators”
@F.B Btw - my respect for booting doom onto that little machine! That is even much more nerdy and cool than having LEDs
It’s somehow like a feasibility study, right - if one cannot play doom on a machine, that has a LCD-display, its not nerdy enough… hehe
