Is there a way to install/use inotify-tools? opkg doesn’t seem to be able to install it… And is inotify enabled in the kernel?
Found them in TOS 5 
libinotifytools, inotifywatch and inotifywait.
Which good news but not much of use
if the necessary kernel conf flags are unset?
Not sure what is the relation between inotify and the flags, but when I set a simple inotifywait -m /var/log/messages, I got some modification notifications. So at least to some degree it works.
