USB flash disk as /srv/ folder

What type of longer-lasting and reliable flash drives do you use for /srv/ folder placement?

Do you use a front or rear USB port under the antenna ?

If you use the rear port, do you also choose some extension with a well shielded cable ? My experience with back ports is tragic. There have been persistent problems with multiple types of flash drives.

Why not a USB connected hard drive?

edit: the advantage there is you have a chance of recovering the data in case of failure.

In my case, the system is installed on mSATA SSD. At the time I reinstalled, I was not advised by support staff to keep this data (with frequent writes) on an SSD disk, but still to activate /srv/ on an external flash drive.

I’m definitely not going to run two SSDs on a router .
