Turris OS 7.1.1 is in RC!

Dear Turris users,

We just released a Turris OS 7.1.1 to the hbt testing branch! It contains a few fixes for Turris OS 7.1.0. Namely, it reinstalls libevent2 as it is rumored to help on Turris 1.x with unbound. We also made json parsing more robust in Turris Webapps (initial landing page on your router). There is also a little bit of extra polishing of LibreSpeed plugin in reForis. Take a look

Hopefully, it will just help to fix a few issues people encountered in 7.1.0, we are working on more, but wanted to release those few ASAP.

If you run into something new, please let us know, otherwise, we will release this on Monday.

Hi,

HBT Turris Omnia 2020 All seems O.K.

One comment:

  • MCU update notification → seems that was updated again and a reboot is needed. Same like previous 7.1.0 RCs.

See picture.

Thanks

MOX classic, HBK branch, .5 GB, 2x WiFi, simple config. All seems OK.

There was small qlitch: clicking on “Advanced administration” in reForis to go to LuCI displayed status info only without any menu of LuCI… only after forcing previous LuCI panel from history (Mozilla Firefox) LuCI menu was shown…

It could be local problem only

The Luci thing happens when you’re not logged in. I think some plugins install pages which do not require authentication, and Luci decides that it has something to show you without login, so it does. But it forgets to display the login button.

Thanks for explanation - such possibility didn’t come to my mind

Anyhow, Firefox “shares” login info - i.e. I can for example open another Google aplication (Calendar) when I’m logged into Mail… probably, Chrome behave another way

This is a Turris-specific behavior. They have one login for reforis, pakon amd other services, and Luci might be affected (but it has a separate password, so maybe not).

You could add task to remove miniupnpd-iptables and install miniupnpd-nftables because that is also in stock and not handled

7.1.0→ 7.1.1 RC1 update okay. No noticeable cable/wifi/internet interruption. Restart was not needed.

DNS worked for me before and it still works.

I haven’t noticed any spurious DHCP option on LAN interface as somebody mentioned.

Turris Omnia 2017, 1 GB RAM, dead eMMC, system running from mSATA SSD, original wifi cards, UBoot 2022.10. Storage plugin enabled, LXC containers, tor relay, USB HDD shared over samba4 and minidlna, Syncthing, SQM, Hardwario gateway + MQTT IoT bridge, OpenVPN, PPtP VPN, Strongswan IKEv2 VPN, morce.

I did not get the MCU upgrade notification this time…

Update ok on my mox. no issues so far.

Hi! I have a Turris Omnia with OS 7.0.3 and update has been failing since 7.1.0 is out.
I thought 7.1.1 might fix it but I still have the same error:

Updater execution failed:

I uninstalled reforis-netmetr-plugin and netmetr, did a reboot but still the same issue.

Maybe it could help to uncheck Netmetr in reForis → Package Management → Packages

netmetr doesn’t appear in the list. Under “Network monitoring and parental control”, there is “Internet connection speed measurement” that talks about LibreSpeed. But I didn’t select anything in that section.

This thrad is not actual. Anyway:

You can check, if “netmetr” is listed in /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua, or in LuCi menu System → Software.

Thanks! That was issue. After removing the line in that file, update was performed.
