That would be my question as well.
+1.
Otherwise I need to get a serial cable as soon as possible
No, it is not needed for future Turris OS updates. It just contains plenty of useful features. Supports USB, makes booting from SATA/external drives easier. It is also required for new rescue image that supports for example flashing from the Internet.
Hmm, ok.
I do wonder, on how many standard 2GB indi ( 2016) models this went wrong, and the linux/serial route was needed to have it breathing again… any numbers?
( only have 1 omnia, no spare ones to fiddle around)
BTW, thanks for the restraint of not pushing the final version on 23rd or 24th
The it is done, when it is done school of updates might not be sexy, but for updated gray, boring, and uneventful is how I like them.
I admit that I put my ‘test turris7’ behind a “first get 6.5 and update U-boot and MCU’” self-selected dependency, so I am waiting for 6.5 to hit final, knock on wood.
Could you please send me your sdcard dump with your personal files erased? If you don’t want to post it publicly you can send it by mail to info@turris.cz or via private message on forum.
New year, new RC. We incorporated update to new OpenSSH (missing from NEWS now, will be added in next rc), updated kernel and added fixes for nor-update, netboot and Morce. Netboot and Morce are only side-effects of the prolonged rc, the main focus of rc is OpenSSH, kernel and fixing environment migration in nor-update. We are still looking into what went wrong on Turris 1.X of @czlada, so far no luck reliably reproducing.
Finally OpenSSH v 3?
6.5.0 RC2 → 6.5.0 RC3 update ok (no new problems introduced), no unintended cable/wifi or internet downtime. Restart needed. Ssh daemon got restarted during the install, but it was quick and a connected session was not interrupted.
Turris Omnia 2017, 1 GB RAM, dead eMMC, system running from mSATA SSD, original wifi cards, UBoot 2022.10. Storage plugin enabled, LXC containers, tor relay, USB HDD shared over samba4 and minidlna, SQM, Hardwario gateway + MQTT IoT bridge, OpenVPN, PPtP VPN, Strongswan IKEv2 VPN, morce.
@miska Thank you for verification. Have you downloaded my system snapshot?
Yes, we downloaded your snapshot, deployed it on Turris 1.1 in our office, but it is booting steadily without crashes
@miska I tried a system restore and it boots without any problems.
Just can’t start sentinel.

This is a brute-force protection on our sentinel servers. Looks like you requested too many tokens. Either it will fix itself over the time (once you stop being throttled) or we would need the message before this one.
We’ve released just another RC. The only change in it is a fixed version of the changelog/news.
TOS 6.5 (RC) contains OpenSSH 9.6p1 that introduces many new features over the older 8.4p1 used in the previous TOS version. See the changelog for details.
I am still waiting to TOS 8.
Me too @viktor … seriously guys you are working on some plugins to reforis… librespeed that have just a few servers and always indicates some lower values of speed… that is cometics. You should take care of that after basic stuff is up to date secure and seriously. We should be already on TOS 8.0 with kernel 6.1 to get rid of bugs in lower level like this one VLAN leak with bridge VLAN filtering on MOX running TOS 6.0.4 (#392) · Issues · Turris / Turris OS / Turris Build · GitLab
Maybe hire some graphics desiner to invest time and money to start working on new logo. Whatever what is not so urgent…
