Turris OS 6.5.1 is out!

Dear Turris users,

we just released Turris OS version 6.5.1. It is really small fix for 6.5 addressing mainly OpenVPN client issue. But while at it, we already did a kernel update, so it is part of the release as well. We also updated a little bit a description for Firmware Updates to stress that it is dangerous action and some skills might be needed to recover.

Full release notes are as follows:

:pushpin: Updates
ā€¢ kernel: Updated to version 5.15.147

:bug: Bug Fixes
ā€¢ openvpn-client: Fix configuration path and make client work again

As always, if you encounter some issue, donā€™t hesitate to let us know.

Turris Omnia 2020. 2x Wifi, 1TB SSD, AdBlock, Wireguard, Samba, MiniDLNA, NetData. Firmware was already on the latest with 6.5.0 release.

No issues.
Thank you guys.

I must have misunderstood something. I thought that when I checked Latest Firmware > Factory Image after upgrading to 6.5.0, that the next time I upgrade, version 6.5.1 will automatically be set as the factory image. But the schnapps factory-image command still lists version 5.3.0. And the schnapps update-factory command still gives ā€˜Donā€™t know what device I am, canā€™t update my factory imageā€™.
What am I doing wrong?
I am on Turris 1.1

It is written in MakeFile ā€¦ (https://gitlab.nic.cz/turris/os/packages/-/blob/master/utils/firmware-updater/Makefile) ā€¦

ā€œScript that makes sure you have the latest U-Boot, rescue system and MCU firmware if applicable.
Apart from that updates factory image whenever new major version comes out.ā€

TO 2016, HBS branch, 2 GB, SSD 256 GB, 2x WiFi, HaaS, RIPE Atlas, Sentinel, lxc (test), simple config, all seems OK.

Very valuable update, indeed!

I upgraded to 6.5.0 on my routers (Omnia 2016 1GB, Omnia 2019 2GB and MOX). Everything OK. I then updated the firmware with ā€œnor-updateā€. Without error messages. A query with ā€œstrings /dev/mtd0 | grep U-Bootā€ brings the following result: ā€œU-Boot SPL 2022.10-rc4-OpenWrt-r16653+119-44ce70f0e2 (Sep 15 2022 - 18:21:35 +0000)ā€. On the Omnia routers I see in the system log:

I have now updated to version 6.5.1 and I also get the same error messages. What could be the reason or is everything OK?

You can update your MCU firmware with omnia-mcutool --upgrade.

Thank you ā€œbamfā€, it works !

Probably this is not the best place for a bug report, but Squid segfaults. I canā€™t even invoke it with a configuration check switch, or something like that.

Thanks for reporting. I can confirm that it really crashes. Iā€™ve created an issue for further investigation.

Many thanks Lukas! I also did an strace, but did not get any wiser, just saw it does not even try to pick up the configuration.

Hi,

I think there is a little typo bug in 0001-base-files-Better-IPv6-defaults.patch patch to /bin/config_generate
Line 179 call set network.$1.ip6ifaceif='eui64' but netifd only support option ip6ifaceid not ip6ifaceif .

My IPv6 config is still working OK with option ip6ifaceif 'eui64' in /etc/config/network .

Regards,

Laurent

Lot of typos in the last months.

Thank you for your report. It doesnā€™t break anything if not set, it is just a little improvement over the default. We will fix that in 7.0.

My turris 1.1 is kernel panicking right after start after update :sleepy:
