Turris OS 5.1.7 is in the Testing branch

Dear Turris users,

In such a short time, we released a new version of Turris OS to the Testing branch. This release is based on OpenWrt version 19.07.6, which was announced and released yesterday because of recently discovered security vulnerabilities in dnsmasq known as DNSpooq, which are fixed in this release. If you would like to know more details about these vulnerabilities, you might want to check Security Advisory 2021-01-19-1 - dnsmasq multiple vulnerabilities.

By default, Knot Resolver is used on Turris Omnia, Turris MOX, and Turris Shield and unbound on Turris 1.x routers. However, some of you may be using different DNS resolvers such as dnsmasq. Because of that, we suggest opt-in to the Testing branch as soon as possible to be protected and safe.

This release also updates kernel to version 4.14.215, mbedTLS to version 2.16.9 and fix for Turris Netboot.

If you find any regression done in this release, please let us know about them.

After this update I cannot log in via SSH (Permission Denied) and Reforis (Wrong Password)
Foris and Luci work fine.
Please help.

Update:
After 3 restarts with the “1 LED” method, it is back to normal.

MOX classic, WiFi, ,5 GB, simple config, all seems to work, i.e. both WiFi alive, SSH, reForis and LuCI functioning… Nice.

Pre-2019 Omnia: Reboot took a bit longer than usual, but otherwise the update went smoothly.

Omnia update is fine.

Hi @Tomov,

Can you provide any more details or some logs so we can take a look what went wrong in your case? Description of your configuration might help as well. If it happens once again, feel free to reach our technical department and follow Getting help article.
