Od první instalace v srpnu Turris MOX byl 5G wifi signál slabý a dosahoval rychlostí nižších než 200Mbits/sec. iperf3 logy (z dneška) v příloze. Testovací zařízení byla Macbook Pro 2018, Xiaomi Lite 11 5G NE.
Protože se jedná o můj první openWRT router, ze začátku jsem si hrál s nastavením 5G bandwidth v reForis GUI, ale žádná z voleb nezajistila lepší výsledky, některé dokonce způsobily úplnou ztrátu 5G signálu. Podrobný záznam jsem si ale ještě nevedl.
Sílu signálu jsem vyřešil přestěhováním routeru blíže středu bytu. I přes to však nemám v relativně malém bytě pokrytí v okrajové místnosti (shodou okolností mé pracovně).
Na momentální nastavení se můžete podívat v přiložené diagnostice.
Otázka zní, co dělám špatně? Nebo se jedná o vadu HW? Turris MOX je to starší, z rozprodeje skladových zásob na aukru.

Proč ne ? Je to na zařízení připojené kabelem …
Byl jsem upozorněn, že nemám aktualizovaný OS.
Po aktualizaci jsem testování a diagnostiku provedl znovu. Problém po updatu dále přetrvává.

A co iperf po UDP? Tim se da lepe poznat skutecny throughput nezatizeny pripadnymi chybami prenosu.
Zahodil bych channel auto a zkusil nastavit kanal napevno. Idealne po predchozim pruzkumu nejakym wifi analyzerem, aby to nekolidovalo, a pokud mozno frekvenci bez DFS. Muzete taky zkusit snizit sirku pasma na 20 MHz (vetsi kompatibilita, nizsi max rychlost) nebo zvysit na 80 MHz (starsi zarizeni wifi neuvidi, ale na tehle sirce se da dosahnout tech maximalnich rychlosti).
Taky muzete zkusit manualne nastavit txpower na maximalni hodnotu (tim se muzete dostat mimo ramec povoleny regulaci, ale pokud to mate v byte, tak pres zdi asi nepovolene hodnoty uz nevylezou).
A na tech koncovych zarizenich, kdyz jste blizko, mate jake RSSI?

V nastavení wifi je WMM Mode
povolen ?
Jakou máš běžnou rychlost na wifi zařízeních přes Speedtest.net ?? To by mně zajímalo víc … až pak bych zkoumal iperf
Speedtest.net bude limitován připojením k internetu, nevidím relevanci.
WMM Mode je povolen.

Max transmit power
Nastavení Max transmit power na maximum v drop down menu nabídky v Luci 20dBm (100mW) způsobilo krátkodobý výpadek modulu a reboot routeru.
Po rebootu hodnota zůstala na maximu, ale žádnou výraznou změnu síly signálu jsem nezpozoroval.
PS: Ještě musím dodat, že 5G pásmo mám podle wifi analyzéru docela volné. Svítí mi tu jen 2-3 jiné vysílače.

Změna kanálu na 104 (5520MHz) zařídila marginální zlepšení dosahu (o zhruba 1 metr) a také rychlosti. Stále se však drží pod 200 Mbps.

A cilem je predpokladam priblizit se k teoretickym 800 Mbps? Jeste me napada, jestli pri testu mate aktivniho vzdy jen jednoho wifi klienta (tj. vsichni ostatni, kdo maji autoconnect na to SSID, jsou vypnuti).
Je to tak, stacilo by, abych videl jak se to alespoň k maximu blíží.
Ale momentální rychlost, která končí těsně pod 200Mbps značí, ze je něco v nepořádku.
Ano, vsechna ostatní zařízení byla na 2.4Ghz (možná mohl na 5Ghz jet jeden iPad s Youtube, ale to by výrazně sníženou maximální rychlost nevysvětlovalo).
Dostal jsem informaci, ze podle prvního diagnostického reportu to vypadá, ze wifi vysila jen v ‘g’ a ‘a’ modulacích, ale ještě jsem se sam na to v logu nedíval.

Idealni na test je udelat nove SSID, na ktere se nic automaticky nepripojuje. Kazdy pripojeny klient (i kdyz nic nestahuje/nevysila) ubira sirku pasma, nebot AP mu musi vyhradit aspon par komunikacnich oken.
Modulace ověřím. Podle GUI jsou ale všechny modulace standardně zapnuté, takže musím jít hlouběji. Podívám se po dokumentaci k ovládání wifi přes ssh.
Ten iPad podporuje rovnaku verziu wifi ako Xiaomi? Niekde tu na fore som cital, ze ak je na sieti zariadenie s nizsou verziou wifi, karta sa automaticky prisposobi na tu nizsiu verziu aj pre vsetky ostatne zariadenia.

Jak má tazatel nastaveny wifi standardy ?? Hlavně by neměl být povolen protokol “Allow legacy 802.11b rates”.
A pokud má pocit, že throughput je nízký a nezajímá ho dopad na výsledky testu Speedtest.net , musí začít resetem nastavení wifi v reForis.
Není výsledek iperf
ovlivněn klientem protistrany ?? Dtto kabel versus wifi ?
@JardaB , Před dnešním testováním jsem v reForis resetoval nastavení wifi.
Po pojmenování wifi a nastavení hesel jsem v luci vypnul “Allow legacy 802.11b rates” (byl vypnutý už od mého prvního příspěvku, tzn. před resetem wifi).

Hodnoty iperf jsou po resetu podobné jako před resetem.
@peci1 @michalko58 , Na testovací wifi byl připojený pouze jeden klient a to ten, který prováděl test - MacbookPro 2019. Tedy problém stále trvá.
