When I have Tunnelblick (an OS X, OpenVPN application) connected to a VPN server, I can’t reach any of the hosts on my .LAN domain. If a VPN connection is not active, the .LAN domain works as expected.
I’m guessing that the DNS requests are being sent to the VPN provider (torguard.net), which doesn’t know anything about the .LAN domain.
Is there a way to fix this? Is this a Tunnelblick issue?
That’s a purely local issue on your OS X machine. Apparently your setup sends all DNS over VPN, which is a good default IMHO but depends on your use case. You may want to continue to use router’s DNS, at least for *.lan.
I’m sorry; I’ll be of no use configuring that, especially on OS X, but you can most likely find all information that you need, as it’s not Turris-related.
