And what’s more, somebody told my current router (I ordered the T-O on a business trip, so he [10+ years of service makes him a living being] couldn’t find it from sniffing at my packets) that his days are almost over and he started striking and making a fuss recently.
I only hope the old man comes to his senses and outlasts at least some 6 weeks until the 1st anniversary of my order which – if I’m lucky – should approximately correspond to the delivery of the new baby.
Take it easy bro :). The best you always save for last :P. So let’s way a little bit more for our 2GB Black omnia’s.
Logically we are lucky that NIC.CZ did as they have promised…deliver a product. How many other project people have been set up. Talk big but in the end no product and say goodbye to the money you invested in.
I’m disappointed. Turris Omnia is available on stock (!) in Alza shop, and we are still waiting for the shipping. It’s really not fair with the backers who paid for the router.
Let me remind you one thing, without us, backing this whole project there would not be any omnia routers at all.
I personally still have not recieved my Omnia, but I don’t complain, as I know that eventually I will get it and I am actually proud that I was somewhat part of this project and my money helped to bring such extraordinary device to life and it is now available for enyone to buy freely.
It is their fault for picking such a poor shipping company. Something is seriously wrong, when you can go to Alza and pick the same router, that you as a backer are stuck waiting for for weeks and still has not been delivered.
Alza: when ordered, available tomorrow at 9:00
My order: The order is being prepared for shipment
Few days? I contributed at 7th January, and my router is still not shipped. I’m waiting for it 10 months, they have my money for 10 months. Someone could buy a product which was developed and created with my (financial) contribution, I risked my money, and I still don’t have the router… Do you think this is ok?
I understand why are the 2 GB models shipped last, why are we waiting for them, but why is the product available for a distributor and eshop, when the contributors (=investors) are still not satisfied?
IMHO the eshop “picked” rest of producted devices by itself. They got devices to eshop after all contributor/investors orders has been processed.
But I agree that the shipping companies should be blamed. .
and i don’t understand the logic behind this… ok, the shipping company is slow… but would you really benefit if they had stopped production until everyone from indiegogo received the router?
Indeed. Logically speaking, it was going as follows. You manufacture the routers and you send them to the shipping company. From then on, NIC.CZ will go on for normal production of the routers so that normal shops can acquire them.
However, one also can understand that when somebody gives you a pile of paperwork, you cannot handle it in just 1 week. You need time, to put the address on it, to recheck if the address is correct. Also to do the small orders first, this isn’t some webshop where at max 10 people order a one kind of product in 1 week. The shipping company is sending ~680 routers a week…let me say it again ~680 ROUTERS IN ONE WEEK!! If you think about that number, and really PONDER about it, that is really impressive i must say.
680 / 5 (working days) = 136 (routers a day) / 8 = 17 routers per hour
It is better doing your job more carfully, then you as a customer NOT receiving your router, because of the mistake made by the shipping company to JUST “HURRY UP”. I would rather wait another week and RECEIVE my router, then to rush things and have things go wrong…which in the end it will take like maybe more then couple of weeks to trace the package and receive it.
It’s like you want to have a dinner in a fancy restaurant. You have make a reservation, so you will make it and then come there. You sit at the table and suddenly, there are another guests, who came without reservation, simply walked in after you came, but are served before you are.
Believe or not, but restaurants take a great care for this not to happen. It tends to piss of their patrons, who can promptly become their former patrons.
This is similar: the backers made a financial commitment, assumed a risk and are getting a worse service than those, who didn’t make any commitment and didn’t assume any risk. Why should anyone back such a vendor in the future? If you want the product, simply wait until it’s done and then buy it retail, you will have it sooner than all the backers anyway.
If they want to blame the delivery company, they can. However, they picked it, so in the end, they are responsible for it’s performance. They have all the levers to make them perform up to the standard. The current one is as if there was a single guy doing all the delivery personally.
You know what amazes me, everybody who is complaining has the SAME habit. They “suddenly forgot” that they have paid less for the product.
I would be one HAPPY customer at a restaurant if they would serve other customers much sooner then me, while they pay like $100 and i just have to pay $50 for the SAME food :). I am not sure about you…
You will be having this router…for YEARS to come. You will not even remember that you waited like 1 month longer for the router to arrive hahahahahah.
Is it normal that mine is still new order? I have locked order (3 months ago?) i have added phone number(2 months ago), but i dont really believe i will get it before december.
