Schnapps cleanup --compare writes on disk

I tried for the first time to run “schnapps cleanup --compare”, I noticed it writes to disk a lot

Is this expected? the process ran for almost 1hr.

I only saw the writes when using compare option.

I guess it’s normal. It’s only been five minutes for you. and it’s a question of how fast the storage medium is. The process checks all the saved image files sequentially for a match or difference in their contents. CPU utilization is around 50%.

I have my system on an mSATA SSD and checking 12 saved images (185 MiB total) took about 10 minutes

None of the Snapshots were deleted. If it was doing a comparison, why the writes?

I had more than 10 images in the emmc, definitely the ssd seems faster.
