Package ath10k-firmware-qca988-ct-htt is missing in OpenWrt 21.02

Hi all, unfortunatelly on Turris 1.0 with update pack cannot do this :

TOS 5.44 HBS

Hello @roman-profiservis,

this package was renamed in upstream ath10k-ct-firmware: rename ct-htt packages · openwrt/openwrt@2e5e9b4 · GitHub to ath10k-firmware-qca988x-ct-full-htt.

Hi, thx, but it seeems that update still not working - opkg update command cannot download some file :

Hello,

It still seems that the Updater tries to download the such file. There were two possibilities, how you can handle it as the package was installed probably manually.

  1. Open /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua and edit it to a new variant
  2. Remove the current package, let the router update itself and install the renamed package.

Anyway, I looked at it and prepared an exception, which can be already found in Turris OS 6.0.1, so you don’t need to do anything manually.

Hello,

I am very sorry, but this still doesn’t work - opkg update command still wants to download some non-existing file :

That’s correct that sidn is not there anymore, it was removed in Turris OS 6.0. So if you do pkgupdate (or let the router update itself manually) and you will be updated to the latest version, it will be removed itself.

So in the end it worked, but it was more complicated…
I had to manually remove the offending repository - the one with the SIDN in the path, it just didn’t happen. It was also necessary to edit another file in the path /etc/updater/conf.d/ to the new value ath10k-firmware-qca988x-ct-full-htt.
Then everything after pkgupdate command went OK, the router was upgraded and I have to say the result was worth it, it’s really faster and seems to work great.
So thank you, but for the BFU this is not done automatically and it didn’t happen by itself (at least in my case).
But many thx once more, the result is great and I can recomend upgrade to all.

I have the same problem. Can you describe the exact steps what I need to do to upgrade?
Thanks!

Hi,

exact steps in my case :

all from command line via ssh

  • do the schnapps create command (as backup)

  • edit /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua and edit value to a new variant ath10k-firmware-qca988x-ct-full-htt

  • edit /etc/updater/conf.d/user.lua and edit value to a new variant ath10k-firmware-qca988x-ct-full-htt

  • edit /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf and comment with # line source path with “/sidn/Packages.gz”

  • run “opkg update” command

  • run “pkgupdate” command

next you should see come message about migration to new version and press ENTER
after restart please be patient, probably you will need one more restart, after the second restart all migration and config was properly made in my case

Hi,

what exactly does it mean to edit the value to a new variant? the opkg-auto,lua file is empty and i dont have a user.lua file?

Bought a new Mox and i have Version 4.0 installed, cant update because of this error.

Please follow exact steps written in my previous text from Nov9 or maybe you will have to use last medkit for Mox. I had troubles from OS 5.x, from older OS I don’t know, sorry.

thanks for the fast reply,

i tried following it but i dont understand what exactly i have to edit,

  • edit /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua and edit value to a new variant ath10k-firmware-qca988x-ct-full-htt

do i open the file and add the line “th10k-firmware-qca988x-ct-full-htt” ?

No, there will be line with old variant - so please change old value to new one

I my case there was another value in /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua

yeah that seems to be the problem, i dont have any values in my files, i appreciate the help.

Follow steps in our documentation for flash from the Internet or re-flash the router.
