New Omnia 2020. Why my new Omnia is so hot?

Hello. I bought a new omnia 2020. I updated it to the latest firmware version to start with. See the screenshots and the log. I didn’t connect anything except the computer to the router. However, at normal room temperature, the router is very hot. It stands on its legs on the table. It is ventilated normally. The air access is not closed. Is everyone has the same problem or I have a deffect router? Thank you in advance for the answer.

In Russian;

There is no any load on the router. It is completely new and without any additional applications. A clean system. What is the problem?

Nothing unusual. what exact temperature do you have there?

mine is now about 40C, used to be hotter in hot days

This is mine, a 2016 omnia…

I doubt that. Derived from your first screenshot in this thread you’ve got a quite high average load.

I would guess that your router tries continuously to start your DNS resolver (and failed). Maybe that’s the reason for your high load … I have no turris device for testing by hand but maybe @vcunat can help here.

kresd starts fine; you can e.g. see that the PID remains the same. One resolution attempt per 10s doesn’t seem too harsh; I don’t expect that by itself could generate noticeable load. It seems more likely that some other components trying to reach the internet could do it, but overall… I can’t see a point in spending much time on improving this intermediate state where Omnia is disconnected from internet. (There people usually value most that it starts working fast, as soon as connection is possible again.)
