NAS box set for Omnia fan size

Hi,
I’m never able to find how big a fan can be mounted into a NAS box. I mean diameter and maximum thickness.

Hi, you should be able to fit a standard 80x80 mm fan - its maximum thickness should be slightly below 30 mm.

Hi, is it possible to control the fan speed based on the Omnia temperature somehow? Thanks.

Probably only if fan itself can do it as the power cable is shared for both disks and fan.

My intention is to use this fan[1], but I haven’t my Omnia yet, so I can’t confirm that it will work as expected.

I have bought same one and it works just fine. Probably some tweaking of placement of temperature sensor will be needed. I’ve currently placed it between board and hard disk, but maybe having it on the top will be better…
