I decided to stop and go back to the basics, starting with the windows network configuration, and sure enough, one of the adapters data must have gotten corrupted, I had to end up deleting the device and created a new one, rebooted and bam… re-foris popped onto the screen =) anyway, thanks forall the help, I did learn quite a lot during tis excercise.
