Mox module E suddenly stopped working - diagnostics show "port X entered blocking state"?!

Hello!
I have a Mox Power WiFI + E + E modules. All worked very well until a day ago, when suddenly, both the E modules stopped working.
With “stopped working” i mean:

  • they are recognized, i can chek in reforis for example which port has a device connected, it´s all correct
  • connected devices all show fast flashing “transmission” led on their lan port
  • no data transmission takes place, all devices connected to the E modules are unreachable

I did a rollback to 6.2.1, didn´t fix it. Anyone has any ideas what could cause it? And any advice on how to bugfix it? Bear with me, I´m not the most advanced. But I can connect to the mox via ssh  so, it´s a start…

Edit:
Updated back to 6.2.2 again, no change. I ran the diagnostic, and i find the output for the lan ports weird…
At second 0.7 the modules are found normally.
At second 4.0 - 5.7the lan ports show (uninitialized)
At second 21 and later, the lan ports “entered disabled state”…

Is this normal behaviour?

Did you send diagnostics to Turris team?

no, first wanted to hear if this is “common”, for i shouldn´t be the only one with a mox and an “E” module…

Fair idea.
Did you disassemble MOX, factory reset it and reassemble it? That way software effects should become neglectible.
But if you’d ask for my oppinion, this sounds like a dead module E.

Last thought: did you test with different ethernet cables?

No, didn´t do a physical check; only a few rollbacks…
that would be TWO module E
different cables… well, also, no, there are ~10 devices (RasPi and such) connected atm, would be weird to have all cables go bad at the same time, i think. So my bet was on software before hardware this time.
question is: what actually did change software wise in the last few days? there was nothing in the changelogs concearning module E afaik…

But, yeah, will contact support via email, then

EDIT:
Just a small update - haven´t received an answer from support yet, but I finally found time to inspect it physically. no obvious damage, but it seems to be a power issue; 6 devices connected work well, with 7 connected, some have dropouts, with 8 connected, none work. ordered a new and stronger psu, should arrive tomorrow… fingers crossed…

EDIT2:
bought a standard 12V 5A brick, and the mox works perfectly again with 11 lan cables plugged in. so it seems the bricks that came with the mox are not up to the task long time… because 12V 2.5A should be more than enough to power it. a standard 8 port switch comes with a 12V 0.5 brick… so 16 ports should draw less than 1A, leaving 1.5A+ for the mox A module (wifi is disabled atm) .
