Missing Foris packages in Turris OS 6.0

Just got the following error message:

Error from 2022/10/19 12:21:31
Updater failed:

inconsistent: Requested package foris-l10n-de that is not available.

I think a long time ago I installed a foris localization package to work around some other issue with updates and now it seems to bite me.

root@turris:~# opkg remove foris-l10n-de
Removing package foris-l10n-de from root...
root@turris:~# opkg list-installed | grep foris-l10n-de
root@turris:~#

Let’s see whether that squelched it sufficiently (assuming it was a real problem to begin with).

Hello @moeller0 ,

all Foris packages were removed, so if you installed them manually, then please remove it.
Otherwise, update to Turris OS 6.0 can not proceed.

Yepp, I installed that manually ages ago, to deal with some issue in updates and I simply forgot to remove it. But I now removed it and will see how the update goes. I am currently (until Friday) away from my omnia, so just logged in via OpenVPN out of curiosity after reading the TOS6 announcement and saw this error and fixed it. Let’s see whether it will go through now automatically, otherwise I will take care of this Friday evening.

Hello,
I have Turris Omnia 2020 updated to 5.4.4 with the updates in manual approval but I have this notification:

Updater failed:
inconsistent: Requested package foris that is not available.

how can i upgrade to 6.0?

do I have to remove all packages from the Luci interface?
these Foris packages?
Is there a guide?
Thank you

The proper question is why did you need to install Foris manually or who suggested it? It was not necessary. Because from the output, it is not clear, which packages you installed or not, I suggest to take a look at file /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua and remove all Foris packages, there.

Manually I didn’t install anything (I don’t even know how to do it) I used the TAB:
reForis ==> Package Management ==> Packages List

where i installed:
Pakon
Netdata
Openvpn
Network monitoring and parental control

however how do I go and what should I do in:
/etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua

Thank you

In the file " /etc/updater/conf.d/opkg-auto.lua" I have this:

– This is automatically generated file managed by opkg wrapper script. Please don’t edit!
Install(“luci-app-ddns”)
Install(“luci-i18n-ddns-it”)
Install(“ddns-scripts_no-ip_com”)
Install(“luci-app-openvpn”)
Install(“luci-i18n-openvpn-it”)
Install(“luci-app-wol”)
Install(“foris”)

do I have to remove or comment out only the last string “foris”?

ok I commented that string now I have no error and as an update I have:

Approve Update From 20 ottobre 2022 23:23

There are 733 packages to be updated.

now it’s OK? I proceed?

I have the same error, and I am sure I didn’t install them manually.

How to solve this issue?

Hello
I managed to install version 6.0 like this:
I made a backup of the file “etc / updater / conf.d / opkg-auto.lua”
and then edited and saved comment the line:

Install (“foris”) ===> - Install (“foris”)

saving the file, the updates appeared and I was able to update
unfortunately now i have problems with nextcloud where before the update everything worked
so now i have this error:

Internal Server Error

how do i solve it please? do i have to open a new post?
