LTE Uplink Turris Omnia

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. I’m currently facing an issue with my Turris Omnia router, specifically in setting up an LTE uplink using the qmi cellular protocol. I’ve been troubleshooting this for a while now and would appreciate some guidance.

Here’s the situation: I have four Turris Omnia routers, all set up with LTE as an uplink. However, I’m encountering a recurring problem where the connection works fine for a period and then suddenly drops. Strangely, this issue is not isolated to just one of the routers; it affects three of them, while only one of them is working without any problems.
I’ve double-checked my configuration settings, and they appear to be consistent across all four routers. However, it’s perplexing why three of them experience these connection interruptions. I’ve gone through the logs, but I can’t seem to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

Here are some additional details:

-The LTE interface is configured with the qmi cellular protocol.
-All routers have the same hardware and firmware versions.
-The SIM cards used are also identical.
-Signal strength and LTE coverage seem stable across all routers.

I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps, such as rebooting, reinserting the SIM card, and updating firmware, but the issue persists on three of the routers. It’s causing reliability problems in my network, and I’d like to resolve it as soon as possible.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with their Turris Omnia router or LTE uplink setup? If so, could you please share your insights or any potential solutions you’ve tried? I’d greatly appreciate your help in getting this resolved so that all four routers can maintain a stable LTE uplink connection.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

There are some threads on this forum about how to connect LTE-modems so kindly use the search function
If I remember correctly the erratic issue is known and dependent from the modem. Two of the experienced fellow users wrote/enhanced a script to automate the reconnect in case of modem failure.
