Can you try another cable?
I can swap out one from another deviceā¦Iāll give it a try. I have been using this cable for a few years now for connections to various other routers, and itās always worked perfectly, but I suppose that something may have broken/worn outā¦Iāll try later and report back. Thanks for the reply, SQBI.
OK, I finally got around to trying a different cable - no luck, the connection still intermittently dropped.
After a bit of head-scratching, I disabled my anti-virus software (Avast), and that has resolved my issue. Iām trying Windows Defender for a while as a replacement - so far, the connection seems to be fine.
Good to know. You could report your issue to the Avastās tech support.
I may try to verify it by reinstalling first, but good idea - thanks.
the issue where the ethernet ports donāt come up at boot with certain devices was fixed in the kernel included with the recently released 3.5.2. I used to have that issue but donāt anymore post that update.
