How to use Power Wifi 6 as wifi router?

What do you mean by that? Where do you see it? Second screenshot is ok now use eth0 as your WAN interface. Owww you did it already I see from the first screenshot. So now let me look at Network → Interfaces

I go to Network ⇒ Devices ⇒ br-lan ⇒ configure and I get this:

I uncheck “Ethernet Adapter” in “Bridge ports” so it looks like this:

I click “Save”, and nothing has changed.
If I click “Configure” again I go back to the first screen, which shows that eth0 is under “Bridge ports”

Hmmmm. I guess it might be Reforis doing it. Go to 192.168.1.1/reforis and make sure eth0 is unassigned

Ok I just clicked “Save and Apply” and that fixed it. Bridge ports now shows “unspecified”

Weird. Almost ok. But eth0 should be not part of br-lan. Or maybe add your wifi interface manually to br-lan so something is there and then remove eth0. Wifi interface should be called wifi0 I guess.

So that should be it. Do you see IP address on WAN? Is cable connected? Is your ISP using DHCP?

It works! Thank you so much!

So keep in mind that now you only have WiFi access to the router. So if you mess up wifi you lock yourself out. I would advise to make a snapshot now using schnapps. And even replace your factory image with current state so when you reset factory its like it is now.

And consider buying a MOX module with more ports (free Turris advertisement)

Or adding a new bridge with some “Emergency wifi access” just in case.

Ok so I connected it to the internet through the ethernet interface and set it to update in reforis, and it stopped working. The wifi network is visible on my computer but I can’t connect to it.

The LED is also flashing now, it flashes twice and then pauses, in a loop.

Do you know what happened? Should I reset it again?

First I would wait a bit like 15mins or so to make sure update finishes. Then I would RESTART not RESET and check again. Then I would disconnect WAN and set static IP (ex 192.168.1.100/24) on your laptop using wifi network and see if you re-gain connectivity to the router to check whats wrong there.

I set a static ip on my laptop and now I can connect to the wifi network but when I put ‘192.168.1.1’ in my web browser I get “unable to connect / Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.1”

Did you make a snapshot before update?

Well if yes then restore to that by reset button. If not then reset to factory and follow what we did already once again. And lets have a look at Reforis whats there.

I did make a snapshot, but the problem persisted even after doing the btrfs rollback. So I did a factory reset again.

I’m trying to repeat our previous instructions now, hang on.

Ok so I did the factory reset and set up wifi, and then I rebooted the mox, and now when I connect to it over wifi it just shows me this (the GUI isn’t usable)

Refresh page. Do you still have static IP on laptop’s wireless interface?

Yes still static IP. I refreshed and it said unable to connect again.

I reconnected over ethernet and now it works. But I need to be able to connect over wifi first before I can set the ethernet port to WAN

ok I unset static IP and now I can connect over wifi

Ok I got it back to where we were before, ethernet WAN and wifi LAN.

How exactly should I do the updates so they succeed?
