Help Needed with Turris Mox Board Repair

Hi,

My issue is actually with a Ripe Atlas probe v5 (atlas-mox) which is a modified version of turris-mox.

My board has multiple shorts, some ICs are overheating, and a few have even melted.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate any board diagrams or schematics that could aid in the repair process. Could anyone provide the necessary documents or guide me on where to find them?

I have attached a picture of my board marking the faulty component that I removed. If anyone can share details about this component, it would help me find a replacement. Additionally, any board diagrams or information on voltage and other parameters would be immensely helpful.

I am not a trained board repair technician, but I am making an effort to fix this myself as obtaining a new board from RIPE is nearly impossible due to their limited stock. Any assistance from the community or the Turris team would be greatly appreciated.

Beside, you may install SW probe that is available on multiple platforms.
Eventually you can send the device back to ripe or cznic for repair .

Hi, thanks for linking the hardware documentation. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble identifying the faulty component from the board schematics.

I assume the highlighted part on the Turris Mox A might be the component I’m looking for. Do you happen to know what it is?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

The reason you are having problems with your RIPE probes is most likely due to using the wrong power supply. Please make sure you are using a proper 5V or 5.1V max power supply.

And you are correct, this device is a modified version of the Turris MOX A module. Please refer to the datasheet of Turris MOX A on page 30.

The section you are trying to find in the datasheet is U72 (as seen on the board), where you can read the part identifier NCP6324BMTAATBG.

Regards

Hello,

Thank you for the part ID. The component on the RIPE probe is labeled “4AP,” whereas the one you mentioned is labeled “4A2.” Could they be the same, or are they interchangeable?

According to part data sheet

I believe the last character is 1 not P.

I saw the data sheet but look at this:
