Error "Not downgrading package kernel" when updating kernel modules

I installed the firmware using the 6-LEDs method.
After restart, when trying to update kernel modues I get this error:

It appears from the log that you are currently using the hbl branch. Thank you for your participation in testing. We have recently reverted a kernel update due to issues experienced by some devices after the upgrade process, and we are currently investigating the root cause. The updater cannot downgrade packages. The recommended solution is to switch to the hbk branch temporarily and then switch back to the hbl branch.

It didn’t work. Switching branches doesn’t seem to replace the kernel.

I reinstalled mtd firmware and then I did a 6-LED reset again. That fixed it, but I lost the config.
