I would like /dev/dsp and all files in /dev/snd to be owned by root:audio with 0660 permissions. I’ve tried udev but it appears that it isn’t actually running and hotplug2/procd is the way to go. With that knowledge I went to play with files in /etc/hotplug.d but couldn’t find any way to get an event when /dev/dsp is created after I plug in a USB sound card. I thought putting file in /etc/hotplug.d/usb would be the solution but couldn’t quite figure out what the file should say.
Anyone has any ideas?
