Over the last few weeks I’ve been putting together an OpenWRT router for my folks using a PC Engines APU2. Someone was selling some that were used as an embedded firewall.
Having not played with OpenWRT for some time (since I got my Omnia 5+ years ago), I forgot how bare bones OpenWRT is. Especially for this sort of device where the wireless portion is optional.
My experience has brought home to me how much I value the Turris team keeping the router software up to date in a more or less seamless way.
