Wired VLAN Troubles

Anyone has an idea about why interfaces eth0.11, eth0.22, eth0.33, and eth0.44 are missing from ifconfig output for the following setup? I must be missing a configuration step…

/etc/network
config switch
        option name 'switch0'
        option reset '1'
        option enable_vlan '1'

config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'
        option vlan '11'
        option vid '11'
        option ports '5t 0'

config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'
        option vlan '22'
        option vid '22'
        option ports '5t 1'

config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'
        option vlan '33'
        option vid '33'
        option ports '5t 2'

config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'
        option vlan '44'
        option vid '44'
        option ports '5t 3'

config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'
        option vlan '2'
        option ports '4 6'
swconfig dev switch0 show

Interestingly enough is that even though the VLAN interfaces are not showing up in ifconfig, they still show up in Luci and seem to be fully functional. Is that expected that ifconfig does not support VLANs?

Ok, all it was needed is to power it down and up again and ifconfig is now working…
