Today I received notification about updates, there are many on the list (135 items).
I would expect an article in “Community office” telling basic info - especially, reboot required yes/no, LAN services interrupted yes/no and so on. Anyone knowing more?
Which branch are you using? It is a rolling release if you are using anything other than HBS (stable) / HBT (testing). We have our or rather, let’s say, generic release notes if you switch to one of our development branches, but we are not tracking each change. That’s why these branches are development ones, and if you are interested in more details, I suggest taking a look at GitHub/GitLab repositories to find more details on what has been changed and why.
If you are interested more in our branches (workflow), please refer to this documentation:
Hi Pepe,
I’m on HBS, see attached screenshot. That’s why I’m surprised that there came updates without being able to find release notes…
Hmmm.
Without provided details, it’s hard to know what is going on. You didn’t say which packages were updated or neither reached our technical support department with diagnostics.
We didn’t release any new version into HBS. You can see it also on our repository: Index of /hbs/
The latest release is indeed Turris OS 5.2.7, which was released on 15th September.
But if I should guess, then you probably encountered this issue:
You probably hit the root cause, I issued opkg update
today in the morning.
Looking to Kernel is reinstalled after opkg usage, the fix was scheduled for 5.2.2 and then postponed to 5.2.3, 5.3.0 and 6.0… Any realistic plan for fix?
And now need your answer: Should I approve all 135 packages to be re-installed or not? What would be consequence of ignoring it - could I somehow disapprove this set of updates, but be able to approve real updates in later days?
Thanks!
Well, this depends on higher priority issues, etc. It is not bad as it seems. So, once it is fixed, you will see it in that GitLab issue.
That’s up to you. You can approve it or don’t as it is harmless in my point of view. Just follow Community office - Turris forum as well our Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit) to keep up with the recent news and updates related to Turris (OS).
