Using MOX as an "extender" for Omnia Lan and WiFi

Okay, this post is my first here after setting up my new turris hardware, so please be gentle…

I got an Omnia 2020 all set up as a router, working very well. Sadly, the wifi signal does not reach the opposite corner of my flat. So I bought a Mox Power WiFi with 8-Lan port add on and also ran a LAN cable from my omnia to my mox. So the Mox is connected to the Omnia via LAN.

The question I have now is: How do I configure the Mox, so that all clients connected to it via WiFi and also Lan are routed to my Omnia (which is also the DHCP-Server).

What I have done so far:
Set Omnia as DHCP, it has static IP 192.168.178.1

Mox : Set “Lan Mode” to computer, static IP 192.168.178.2; gateway and DNS to IP of Omnia.
The Mox connects to the Omnia via the Lan interface.

Wifi: SSID and password the same as on omnia, auto channel.

The problem is now, while it somehow seems to work, for there are clients associated with the Mox´ Wifi, the performance is terrible. For example web pages take long to load if i use my mobile phone via the Mox WIFi, sometimes, sending and receiving data with my mobile phone via the Mox´ Wifi does not work at all for 30 seconds or so.

Does anything come to your mind where I should look in the Mox´ settings (reForis or LuCI)?

Do you use VLAN and/or 802.11r (fast roaming)?

Hello!
No, right now I wanted to keep it simple for starters and do not use VLAN and 802.11r

Sry, then I do not have any glue about what is happening. This worked out of the box for me.
What you could test if MOX netboot works (because your usecase is exactly what is covered by netboot functionality).
