Turris OS 3.10.1 released!

release

#62

An update to 3.10.1 I did up today, then restart. Do not walk Netmetr report an error when you start measuring or loading data. Uninstalling and reinstalling Netmetr nothing changed.

Edit 10.06.18
After system update all data collection ports (22, 23,80, 2323,3128, 8123, 8080) are closed.

At first command … /etc/init.d/haas-proxy restart
And other port ?? stop and start data collection and restart ?

Now is all ports ready open , only port 80 is Stealth

#63

The issue my end is not that HaaS is not starting, it is indeed running, but appears to be void of ipt rules for opening/redirecting port 22 on the WAN.

/etc/init.d/haas-proxy start is not producing the ipt message but is neither opening/redirecting WAN port 22, confirmed by a port scan (showing 22 as closed) and not being able to get a login on the WAN ip port 22

#64

Probably because server for measuring is down.

#65

@Pepe I’m having the same issue as @caralo did, no more output from updater after

“info updater[14066]: transaction.lua:199 (fun): Running post-install and post-rm scripts”

Unlike him stopping dns, killing pkgupdate and running it again just left pkgupdate hanging in the same spot. Help? I sent logs to support under issue 2507.

#66

I updated package lists, upgraded all installed updater* packages and installed updater-ng-migration-helper, after that automatic update with “pkgupdate” worked.

opkg update
opkg install --force-reinstall updater-ng updater-ng-localrepo updater-ng-migration-helper updater-ng-opkg updater-ng-py2-supervisor updater-ng-supervisor
pkgupdate

#67

Version 3.10.1 has minor issues.

In Luci, the “WoL” tab no longer has any function. Under Cloud Backups the “Passwort wiederholen” is written in the German interface as mentioned here. Had an error crept in.
In IE and Pale Moon Pakon does not work at all, with Chromium absolutely faulty. Worse than in 3.10 I think.

On the topic of translation, where can I contribute to translate (German) the Foris user interface?

Best regards

#68

Here, I think.

Did you try a ls -ld /var/cache/netdata to see whether it exists? If not, just create it and restart netdata.

#71

just FYI - I’m experiencing the same behavior with UAS disk as @peci1

#72

I don’t understand the USB protocols, but what I’ve found regarding UASP support is the following:

Commit https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/4ac53087d6d48e46e1cf4d0ca9ed9accdf9c928a (since kernel 4.2) broke something about devices and streams, and commit https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/5de4e1ea9a731cad195ce5152705c21daef3bbba (since kernel 4.11) fixes it.

The error I saw in log was exactly about streams not being supported, so I hope that upgrading kernel to 4.14 in TOS 4.0 could help.

#73

The update from 3.10 to 3.10.1 went very weird on my Omnia:

  1. My setting is that updates have to be approved (for some time, it’s not new setting).

  2. There came update of 2 packages only first (libcurl and updater-ng), which I approved, they finished, and soon afterwards there was another update of many other packages (kernel, kernel modules, and some more).

  3. When I approved that 2nd update in Foris yesterday, it showed update is running… and kept like that for long. Way too long. I expected it should ask for restart after update (kernel and modules were updated), but it did not.

  4. Today, more than 24 hours afterwards, Foris still showed it as running. It seemed too much for me, so I restarted Omnia.

  5. Now it shows it is on 3.10.1, but there was no notice about sucessful update, no e-mail, nothing.

  6. I listed schnapps and it looks like this:

134 | pre | 2018-06-10 16:40:09 +0800 | Automatic pre-update snapshot
135 | post | 2018-06-10 16:40:57 +0800 | Automatic post-update snapshot
136 | pre | 2018-06-10 16:46:17 +0800 | Automatic pre-update snapshot

The syslog from Omnia is sent to my Linux server, so I can see there related events:

Jun 10 16:40:09 turris updater[8560]: updater.lua:100 (Globals): Queue install of updater-ng/turris/60.2.4-2

Jun 10 16:40:09 turris updater[8560]: src/lib/util.c:165 (exec_dir_callback): End of subprogram output

(By the way, I have no NTFS volume. I really don’t know what that weird message means.)

Then there is later:

Jun 10 16:40:57 turris updater[8560]: src/lib/util.c:160 (exec_dir_callback): Subprogram output: /etc/updater/hook_postupdate/05_schnapps.sh:#012Snapshot number 135 created

The snapshots 134 and 135 seem to correspond to that small 1st update, the snapshot 136 seems to be done right at the start of the 2nd (bigger) update:

That seems to be about the time when updater stopped doing reasonable things (since then, just casual cron events, like nethist_stats.lua or /usr/bin/rainbow_button_sync.sh)

  1. Before I restarted Omnia, I quickly did following:

root@turris:~# ps | grep updater
601 root 11012 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
6292 root 11012 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
11256 root 61420 S pkgupdate --batch --state-log --task-log=/usr/share/updater/updater-log --ask-approval=/usr/share/update
13743 root 11000 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
18717 root 11012 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
20817 root 11012 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
23475 root 1352 S {dynamic_dns_upd} /bin/sh /usr/lib/ddns/dynamic_dns_updater.sh -v 0 -S rackspace – start
23476 root 1348 S {dynamic_dns_upd} /bin/sh /usr/lib/ddns/dynamic_dns_updater.sh -v 0 -S henet_endpoint – start
23973 root 10992 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
24640 root 11000 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
27246 root 1112 S grep updater
28890 root 10992 S python /usr/bin/updater-supervisor -d --rand-sleep
root@turris:~# updater.sh
updater.sh is obsoleted. Please use pkgupdate directly instead.

It seems that updater just hanged badly. I am not sure whether it finished its job. The /usr/share/updater/updater-log shows updated packages, manual run of pkgupdate does not show anything to update, so maybe that updater hanged just after it, before setting the notification… but well, I am not really sure. It seems updater ran really messy, how can I trust it???
I am tempted to restore snapshot 135 and try again… although I am afraid it might end up the same, or even worse.

Any suggestions from Turris team what to do with it now?

#74

@palo_m read back a few posts, I reported exactly the same symptoms you did. The updater (pkgupdate) essentially hung while running the package post install scripts, that’s why you were never notified that the update completed and that you should reboot the router. I haven’t gotten an answer from the Turris team either here or via tech support. Can someone from the Turris team help now that there are two reports of the same issue?

#75

Thank you very much :).

#76

I managed to get around the blocked updater by stopping & disabling the ddns service and rebooting (and then restarting ddns).

In 3.10.1 you can not install nut-driver-usbhid-ups.

The names of the packages have changed, but the name of the nut has not changed. It is necessary to change it to nut-server.

#78

… in Package: nut-driver-usbhid-ups
Version: 2.7.4-4
Depends: libc, nut-server, nut-common.

#79

Which UAS case do you have?

#80

Hello,
this is fixed in Turris OS 3.10.2.

#81

HaaS is fixed in Turris OS 3.10.2.
If you don’t want to wait, you can install this package for:
Turris 1.x
Turris Omnia.
