Turris is broken after update today, only SSH via LAN works

Hello,
my Turris is broken since today`s update around lunchtime.
Only what I am able to achieve is to connect via SSH via LAN.

Not working:

  • Wifi
  • Router is not connected to the internet
  • UI Interface is not loading at all

Can anyone help me please, how to fix it via ssh?
Many thanks.

Hey,
I had the same issue today. The updater completely uninstalled my modem drivers, and (again) reenabled unbound while I was using dnsmasq.

Anyway, hopefully you are using sdcard, and you should be able to revert to the previous build using SSH.

# schnapps list
# schnapps rollback <number>
# reboot

Fingers crossed!

I found option of rollbacks in the documentation, so I was able to fix it by doing the rollback.
To anyone who has same issue, follow rollback instructions here: Schnapps - Turris Documentation

You were bit faster with the reply, I found the same solution, many thanks

I have a same issue, however I can’t ssh, I can’t even ping it.

Also I’m not having a USB stick there, so I don’t know if there is a chance I’ll have something to rollback to.

Any suggestions please?

any specific lan port I should connect to maybe?
should it still listen to my original lan IP I configured, or its on some default now?

I have SD card plugged-in and I do not think, that you have to connect to specific port. I connected via configured IP, not default one.
Maybe try reboot your router first by unplugging the cable.

Hallo!

My Omnia updated from Turris version 5.4.4 to 6.0 (Linux kernel 4.14 to 5.15) either last night or this morning, I didn’t check.
In any case, it did not reboot automatically, the mail announced it would do so soon.
But its outside connection was unstable, I lost both data (internet) and phone connectivity.

A forced reboot (pull power supply from wall socket) made it resume normal operation.

So the loss of connectivity was a nasty surprise, but once I had noticed the update the fix was easy.

HTH!
Jörg

Thank you very much… You saved my day

And now the Updater requests new Update… Allow or not?

I tried it and it broke again same way. I was trying it around 17:00 CET.
I did read somewhere, that running pkgupdate in shell fixes the issues with updates, but I am not close to router now, so I did not try it yet.

I am also experiencing no ssh connectivity and even rollback via LED reset modes did not help.

Factory reset and then restore from a snapshot worked for me.

Is current update safe?
