I’ve been using my omnia for a few years now. But all in all I am very dissatisfied with the WLAN performance. At 5 Ghz it is 1m next to the router at maximum 280 MBit/s. I would expect 600-800 MBit/s. At 2.4 Ghz the maximum is 40 MBit/s.
Are these limitations due to the hardware? Is there any experience with other network cards that offer better performance?
Which Wi-Fi standart do you use (N or AC?) and what is your channel width (20, 40, 80 MHz) ?
Does your client device support AC and 80MHz channel width?
In general, it also depends on the parameters of the device on the other side of the communication. Router have the three antennas. Does your phone have three antennas? What are the sensitivity of dB ? How is the powerful processor, as Omnia ? Depending on the test method, the write speed on the slow SD card can also be limited
Mobile phone the theoretical speed of 50/150 (2.4/5 Ghz) in an undisturbed environment will never be achieved with a mobile phone. But I don’t want to say that it is impossible to look for ways to improve speed. My test results (two metr from router) are here:

IEEE 802.11 have on average 40% overhead.
I use ac and 80 MHz bandwidth. I use a smartphone that supports 2x2 ac.

When i was having laptop with IntelWirelessPro card (dual interface) the 5.5 Wifi was providing like 1000-1200M when within 2m range (utilizing both interfaces and MIMO feature).
Over 5m speed dropped 400-800M ( due MIMO reduced the count of threads , but signal get a bit stronger. Debugged with internal manager for that wifi card … (on my new laptop i do not have it anymore

LUCI metrics (signal/speed) depends on what device is connected and how the “radio0/1” is configured and how the wireless clients are scanning the suroundings.(so i have the main 5,5 wifi hiden for discovery).
As for the config, you can change the 20Mhz to 40Mhz …but i did not notice any improvements (returned back to 20). you can fiddle with distance and signal and rts
