There’s probably no single choice that can satisfy completely everyone. I’m clearly biased; one example use case is the TLS forwarding, which should be clickable in upcoming Turris 3.11.
If you have a perfect ISP (quality, security, trust), I agree you might not perceive much advantage in comparison to using their DNS directly or through a simple cache (like dnsmasq).
