Nethist - purpose of restart and how to disable

According the documentation Nethist - Creating Turris statistics for Spectator and Android. In a log I can see it’s restarting every 10 minutes:

Jan 22 08:00:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 08:10:07 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 08:20:07 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 08:30:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 08:40:07 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 08:50:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 09:00:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 09:10:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 09:20:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 09:30:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 09:40:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 09:50:09 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 10:00:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 10:10:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist

Jan 22 10:30:08 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist
Jan 22 10:40:09 turris watchdog: Restarted nethist

What’s the purpose of scheduled restart of statistics computation?

Because I don’t use neither Spectator nor Android application - is there any supported way how can I disable it?

Hello,
it’s bug, which was reported here
https://forum.test.turris.cz/t/nethist-buffer-overflow/5070/5

Thanks to @ajb007 we received his fix for our issue and we’re working to include it in new version of Turris OS.

The way with opkg probably won’t work, because nethist and it depedency was installed as part of a user list or the basic system. So you will need to uninstall nethist and nuci-nethist according to our documentation.
