Hotplug ntfs usb mount

Unfortunately i need to work with an external ntfs usb drive for NAS storage on omnia. This drive needs to be disconnected from time to time, and may be also disconnected “by accident”.

I am aware of ntfs-3g and the drive works fine if mounted manually. Based on the openwrt wiki https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/writable_ntfs I edited the /etc/hotplug.d/block/10-mount file to include the script provided in the wiki. I commented out the current contents of the file
#/sbin/block hotplug
but the hotplug mount does not work.
Any advise is appriciated
PS: I am not interested in permanent mount using rc.local
