Different SATA controllers shipped?

In this post from Vaclav he mention that this is the controller the Turris team choose for the NAS perk.
The link shows a specific card with the 1051R-chip with native RIAD support from ASMedia.Although it’s been said that the Omnia NAS perk do not have native RAID support.

Next post from maurer link to a cheaper version of the board.
Bus this board is built around the 1061-chip which is a non-R chip.

And according to ASMedia, the 1061 do NOT have hardware RAID support.

Only the 1061R version of the chip and the board do have hardware RIAD support.

When I looked at my SATA controller included in the NAS perk I found that I have the 1061 (non-R) chip. Not the 1051R chip that Vaclav linked to.

So which SATA controller was shipped or was supposed to be shipped with the NAS perk?
Would there be any benefits to get get the 1061R-controller instead to gain native RAID support?
Those users which experience RIAD problems, could they have been sent a different controller?

Hi davey,
I am sorry, I posted the wrong link before. I corrected it.

We had the non-raid version for the NAS perk (1061). Hardware RAID is kind of risky in Linux, we are not using it. But it doesn’t matter, both controllers should work.

Thank you for your question!

@Vaclav
Thanks for the information.
Great to get it clarified.
