Daily unwanted restarts

my uptime is 6 days after removing kmod-crypto-ocf

but my restarts were not so frequent, had like 3 days uptime with kmod-crypto-ocf

Now I have uptime 14 days without kmod-crypto-ocf, so I think it is clear …

But it should be fixed anyway. Let’s see with the new kernel.

Restarts are here, again:

you have kmod-crypto-ocf installed ?

I also have unwanted reboots, every ~24h but do not have kmod-crypto-ocf installed
my lastlog is empty on the rebooted turris and I have no syslogd setup atm…

No, I have not kmod-crypto-ocf installed since 24. 11.

Is ocf used on omnia? I thought the crypto accelerator was called cesa

ocf is a cesa non-required but needed dependency

so any update on this? I am short before putting the onmia out of service because of this issue!? it beeing rebooted every now and then is really not an option for me, I used to get uptimes of hundrets of days out of my TP-Link (on OpenWRT) and the reboots where ALWAYS intentional.
I have not yet seen my omnia pass the 24h or even 48h mark, which is really sad and I have already done a full factory reset, which is a lot of hassle on its own.

Was a bug ever reported, with more instructions to reproduce?

How do you want to reproduce random restarts?

I see you posted a kernel trace earlier. That would be helpful in a proper bug report. And even if random, you can put as many information as possible. Even something that it’s “obvious” may not be for a developer (source: FOSS contributor for a number of years).

I had unwanted restart today. Here is message log. Time of restart is 9:41

Well, I can’t see the reason for the restart. Basically many things might be the reasons for that: This particular time does not seem like a restart caused by the updater (which restarts the box at 3.15 AM, after notifying user etc.), but HW problems in power supply circuitry or any other HW problem might be the culprit. Moreover, the board features watchdog that restarts the board if the Linux kernel hangs.

The best way to capture the errors is to connect the UART console and wait for the restart (you might use minicom to log anything that happens on the console, for instance).

Regarding the original stack trace from ledtrig-usbdev: Is there a cause&effect relationship between the errors and the restarts? Does the router restart itself even after factory reset or re-flash (https://www.turris.cz/doc/en/howto/omnia_factory_reset)? If yes, it is most likely faulty HW, so please contact info@turris.cz to arrange RMA.

thanks for hints, but this was first unwanted restart ever so waiting for next one could be weeks.

Today second restart. Fact is, that this behavior started after latest update of kernel 4.4.38+1-1-34abcd5e548fc8ed5390269f3a31d173-1

Today another unwanted restart 6 days after update to 3.4. I see errors in log file while booting:

hello, i had similar restarts and various wifi 5 ghz problems.
i changed to master branch and it works solid since then (2 days now), and the syslog errors disappeared too.
