Can I disable Automatic restarts after software update?

On Forris, under Maintenance, Notifications and Automatic Restarts is an option:

Automatic restarts after software update
Delay (days)

I would like to disable this automatic restart. I would guess ordinarily that setting a Delay of 0 might flag such, but it might also flag an immediate restart.

I’d like to receive email notifications but have no automatic restarts at all!

I would like to choose when to do this. I work with a DDNS service and restarts reset my IP, and so I want control over when that happens, and nothing automatic about it. I am happy to receive automatic updates though, just leave it to me when I choose to restart.

Hello,
Which will soon be able to add deferred updates. Some updates will not be installed without reboot. That’s why I think that deferred actulas would be elegant enough to solve your problem

That’s nice to hear, but:

  1. Is there and ETA on that?
  2. In the mean time what does t setting a Delay of 0 do exactly?
  3. Is the only way to effectively disable it to put like a trillion days delay in ;-).
