Automatically delete files after played by minidlna?

I would like to automatically remove a file after it is played by minidlna.

I think the right approach is to create a bash script that is called periodically by chron, that examines the minidlna's database.

Does its database contain this type of information or is this saved in the client?

Is there another way that this can be achieved?

It appears that the /tmp/run/minidlna/files.db file, a SQLite database, contains the service’s settings. Unfortunately, none of the tables contain the type of data that I would need to perform this task. I would assume that the current state of the media file is managed by the client.
