5GHz card not recognized

Hey All,
I’m really a newbie with my Turris Omnia.
Originally I wanted to fix my wi-fi, because I get disconnects with my wireless clients from time to time (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Dell Windows-Laptop, Android Phone, iPhones). I read known issues like concerning disassociate on low ACK, rekeying interval and inactivity polling. I tried all the suggested fixes and all did not help.
Next step was to switch to wi-fi auto channel because there are a lot of present other networks. It did not really fix it.
So I tried to enable the 5 GHz network but I couldn’t even find the device.
I looked into the router (physically, with my eyes  ) and checked the wiring, rewired everything but it looks fine. I removed the card, put it back in. It didn’t do anything.
I just can’t see any setting in the browser web front-end and I only see one radio device.

Could the device just be broken? Unfortunately, I can’t even say if it ever worked, I own the Omnia for about a year now, but most of the time I used the wired LAN, except for mobile phones. Now since we are more and more working from home I started working with the wi-fi config.

Where would you start looking? Kernel log?

Hi.
When you boot the device, connect to it over ssh and type lspci -vv and paste the output here.
You can also try to swap the big and small card (or move the big card to the most left position) to verify the PCI slot itself.
The last thing is to try the big card in some other device (like laptop) to verify if it gets recognized or not.

Thank you for the reply and the suggestions. I’ll try placing the card into another slot. I could also put it in my laptop, didn’t think about that!

There should be a second device, right?

Right, the output (shortened) should look like this.

root@omnia:~# lspci

@hagrid

OK! I moved the big card to the left slot and there is still no card in the lspci-output. I suppose it’s damaged.

Yeah, it looks so.
Can you please contact us on our support line? Follow the Support - Turris Documentation

Cheers!

Ty

I just sent an e-mail

Can you see 5GHz card in LuCI in wireless network? If not you can try to reset wifi settings in reForis but it will not help probably.
Then you can try to just delete /etc/config/wireless file and restart router. It should help.

Or the best - you have to edit /etc/config/wireless file manually and add there settings for 5GHz wireless card.

This helped me when there was no wifi card in lspci command output on Turris 1.0 and Omnia too.
