40 km SFP and DWDM SFP

Hi,

I’m moving to a new apartment where I have the opportunity to connect to an ISP via SFP. The only problem is that the demarcation is pretty far away so I’ll need something that can go at least 40km. This leaves me with a couple of questions.

  1. Would a standard 1G 1550 40km SFP work?

  2. Would a DWDM 1G C-band ITU work?

  3. Would (in the worst case) the 80km versions of the same SFP’s work? Or will I run out of power or run into a heat problem?

  4. What vendor codes can the Turris read, how should be SFP be coded to ensure it’s detected?

Thanks,

Hi,

  1. At least 40Km distance, it is recommended that he buy 80Km module.
  2. DWDM 1G products, as long as they meet the requirements of the product agreement, can work normally.
3.80KM can meet the requirements, our products support 0-70 degrees, which can meet the heat requirements.
  3. Turris does not have many shipments, and compatibility is usually shipped with neutral.
