For the uninitiated, the new distribution of WebThings Gateway is based on OpenWrt

It is not a new OS (in the sense of being written from scratch), perhaps more of a downstream distro of OpenWrt (being a downstream distro of Linux), similar to what TOS represents.

Will be interesting how the new version 0.9 works out as version 0.8.1-2.1 is still suffering some teething issues.
